• Public Housing Authority Contact Information - Has lists of public, low income and affordable housing as well as applications for Section 8 vouchers for their respective municipality.

Homelessness, Shelters, and Emergency Housing

• The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has a complete list of shelters and emergency housing, organized by county. You may also contact the NJ Information and Referral agency in your county.

• Homelessness Prevention Program - Rental assistance to low- and moderate-income persons who are facing eviction because of temporary financial problems beyond their control. Assistance from this program is not available to people on Welfare and/or receiving any other housing assistance. (Welfare recipients have other financial resources available to them.) Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) Program

PATH PROGRAMS provide services to individuals suffering from serious mental illness; or suffering from serious mental illness and from substance abuse; and are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless.

The PATH program provide outreach case management services to homeless adult individuals with serious and persistent mental illness, and assists them in obtaining housing and access to mental health services. Support and coordination of additional necessary services, such as assessment, service planning, service linkage, ongoing monitoring, ongoing clinical support, and advocacy is also provided through the program. Services an eligibility can vary.
